Maria Negut has been recently appointed Head of EU Affairs for European Bioplastics(EUBP), the association representing the interests of the bioplastics industry in Europe, whose members produce, refine and distribute bio-based and biodegradable plastics.
Negut, to be based in Brussels, will be engaging EU policy makers and a range of stakeholders to explain the role of bioplastics in reducing climate impacts and how they contribute to achieving EU sustainability goals. With several years of experience working in and with EU institutions, as well as being a recognized Certified Sustainability Practitioner, she aims to make an impact by taking active part in the discussions affecting the bioplastics sector on behalf of European Bioplastics. Says Negut, “With the Green Deal ambitions to transform the EU into a circular, climate-neutral, modern, and competitive society, our industry will be playing an essential role in supporting the green transition.”
