Biodegradable under composting conditions. According to European norm EN 13432, a compostable material must exhibit all of the following characteristics:- - at least 90% biodegradability within six months
- - disintegration or fragmentation and loss of visibility of the particles in the final compost (the particles that remain after screening through a 2mm sieve must be less than 10% of the starting mass)
- - absence of negative effects on the composting process or on the quality of the final compost
- - low level of heavy metals.
