Koehler Paper and Herma have partnered to launch the world’s first thermal adhesive material free of all chemical developers for the printed image. The paper-based label material is being used for the new generation of environmentally friendly labels that can be disposed of as wastepaper and are also approved for direct contact with food.
Equipped with this technology, Koehler has now introduced Blue4est® Pro, a self-adhesive label based on the same principle as its Blue4est® POS till receipt, where the text is not produced through a chemical reaction to heat, but uses a purely physical reaction. The material is not only eco-friendly, but is also highly resistant to sunlight and moisture. Moreover, Blue4est® Pro features an additional layer that protects the paper from mechanical damage for use as a self-adhesive label.
Instantly recognizable as environmentally friendly by its blue colour, the labels can initially be used for fruit and vegetable scales with further applications following soon.
