The value of the entire plastics recycling market in Poland, in 2021, amounted to approx. PLN 2.8 billion net (EUR 613 million). Thees are the results of a study conducted by the industry magazine Plastics Review.
Business-wise, the recycling market looks very encouraging: an increase in sales value by nearly 50% in 2021 compared to the previous year, with an excellent profitability of nearly 11%. Compared to its EU counterparts, the recycling industry in Poland is pioneeringly small: it is made up of up to 150 companies with revenues of over PLN 1 million (EUR 220,000) net per year.
In 2021, recyclers operating in Poland processed approx. 400 thousand. tonnes of plastic waste, which shows how extremely attractive the recycling industry is in terms of investment. Therefore, one can be convinced that the scale of business on this market will grow dynamically, and that really large capital will move to conquer it.
