Birmoser, currently Executive Vice President Cartonboard at Stora Enso, succeeds Michele Bianchi, CEO of RDM Group, who has led the association for the past four years.
Bianchi's tenure was marked by significant change: the integration of another industry association and the evolution of Pro Carton into a 360-degree body, during a period in which policymakers and businesses were preparing for the entry into force of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
With over twenty years of experience in the forest and cartonboard industry, Birmoser brings a solid international career spanning strategy, commercial development and operational management. Throughout his career he has held senior leadership positions across Europe and Latin America, including CEO of Veracel Celulose, distinguishing himself for his ability to drive business transformation and promote sustainable growth.
