A document that communicates (along the supply chain down to the final consumer) objective information regarding the environmental performance of products and services. The general criteria for the application of the EPD are found in the ISO 14025:2006 standard, where they are classified as “Type III ecological labelling” containing the quantification of the environmental impacts associated with the life cycle of the product calculated using the LCA methodology.
Documento che permette di comunicare (lungo la catena della fornitura, fino al consumatore) informazioni oggettive relative alle prestazioni ambientali di prodotti e servizi. I criteri generali per la sua applicazione sono indicati dalla norma UNI EN ISO 14025:2006, che le classifica come "etichettatura ecologica di tipo III", contenente una quantificazione degli impatti ambientali associati al ciclo di vita del prodotto calcolato attraverso la metodologia LCA.
