Italian snack manufacturer Amica Chips has further automated its coding and traceability processes with Markem-Imaje, following a collaboration that has lasted more than 20 years and includes more than 100 printers installed at the company.
The company, founded in 1990, currently operates a fully automated warehouse with more than 10,000 pallet spaces. Its marking operations are supported by Markem-Imaje’s CoLOS® software platform, together with a range of coding technologies including thermal transfer overprinters (TTO), print-and-apply units, large character inkjet printers and continuous inkjet printers.
Says Oscar Moratti, Amica Chips’ General Manager: “My dad built Amica Chips in 1990. Over the years, we have always invested in innovation, and today we have a fully automated warehouse that holds more than 10,000 pallet spaces.”
“Today we have no recalls, we have no rework due to human error,” affirms Paolo Rizzardi, Production Manager at Amica Chips. “A product recall always leaves a bad impression with the customer.”
The partnership has evolved alongside Amica Chips, from its first TTO and print-and-apply systems to the current CoLOS® platform and technologies such as the 5800 Series with Touch Dry®. The two companies are also working on further projects currently in the definition phase.
