Pasteurization can be implemented also on packaged products. In this case tunnel pasteurizers are used (also called “rain pasteurizers”) that are a type of tunnel through which the packaged product passes and is sprayed with water that increasingly becomes hotter. In the final section of the pasteurizer, the product is cooled.
